Ride knowing you're covered.
Comprehensive cover for South African roads — theft, accident damage and third-party claims, built around how and where you ride.
- Comprehensive cover
- Theft cover

A motorbike is exposed in ways a car isn't — more vulnerable in a collision, and a high target for theft whether it's parked at home, at work or outside the shops. Motorbike insurance protects you from the financial hit of an accident, theft or damage, so one bad day doesn't cost you the bike.
As independent brokers, Ample compares comprehensive and third-party motorbike cover across South Africa's leading insurers, matched to your bike and how you actually ride it.

Motorbikes FAQs
Is motorbike insurance compulsory in South Africa?
It isn't legally required, but bikes are a high theft target and offer little protection in a collision — most riders can't afford to go without cover.
Does cover include my helmet and riding gear?
Riding gear can usually be added to your policy — useful since standard household contents cover won't protect it once you're out on the bike.
Will modifications affect my cover?
They can. Aftermarket exhausts, racks and other changes should be declared so they're covered and don't put your claim at risk.
Does my bike need to be parked in a garage overnight?
Many insurers offer better rates for bikes kept in a locked garage, but cover is still available without one — we'll find the right balance of premium and requirements for your situation.
